Well done, Mike. I can't imagine hunting buffalo with a pistol...the pistoleros had to have had pretty short careers!

I've a pair of 2nd Models. Still haven't fired 'em. What a wuss. They're not somethin' ye yank out in hurry, if ye've got 'em on yer hip. I bought 'em with cartridge conversion in mind. I'm such a nerd...

Sorry to ask this, but since you've got 'em on yer hip,
Are you gonna' pull them pistols or whistle Dixie? And, you are right, those Dragoons are huge and fine pistols, you don't snatch 'em up too quickly. |

On the hip, I can't help but think that you'd keep drawing and drawing, but it'd still be in the holster!
At least it's not a Buntline!

Ha, didn't even notice.
I was too busy watching the loading lever drop after most shots. OJW |

Another great video. Thanks for posting it.
Curious to know if anyone has experience with the Uberti made Dragoons with 40 to 50 grains of BP. Specifically, I was interested in knowing if the Uberti made model have the same issue with the loading lever dropping. |

I'll have you know that I intend to pull them pistols while whistling Dixie! I have a pair of the Pietta "Buntline" .44 Navies. I have pulled them, none-too-fast, as I'm sure you can imagine. Just to be a complete smartass (& if money were not an issue), I'd like to show up at a SASS match with a pair of 1873 carbines with the rifle stocks changed for regular pistol grips, just so I could have an absurd moment akin to the scene in one of the earlier Batman films...wherein The Joker (Jack Nicholson) pulls a ridiculously long barreled revolver from the hip.
I'd be slower than molasses in winter but with the muzzles ending mere inches from the targets, I'd be sure to hit steel!
