over the years I have tried different things to quiet my Lyman vibrating brass tumbler with moderate success. Reading a post about the hazards of airborne lead from a vibrating tumbler made me try a different idea. I bought a 10 gallon plastic storage box at Wally world and put the tumbler inside. The plastic lid is a loose enough fit that the power cord is just run over the side and the lid still fits. The box is a Sterlite brand and sells for about $5.
This WORKS GREAT. Noise is greatly reduced, any airborne lead is trapped inside, and any spilled media is also inside the plastic box. Putting the box on a piece of carpet also helps a little bit.
The motor doesn't feel any hotter when I stop it and empty the brass so the airflow must be ok.

Don't understand?Get airborne lead tumbling brass? If your are tumbling loaded rounds or tumbling cast slugs to moly coat them the lid of the tiumbler, on tight, should stop anything from getting out.
