I've started doing some work on my 870, but could use some help. I've got a factory rifle sighted barrel, but I've removed the moving parts on the rear sight and had SGT install a Ghost Ring on the receiver. I'd like to remove the rear sight base from the barrel. Anyone know how?

Personal weapons are what raised mankind out of the mud, and the rifle is the queen of personal weapons. The possession of a good rifle, as well as the skill to use it well, truly makes a man the monarch of all he surveys.

Dorsai, if you've removed all the parts and don't see any screws, it's sweated on. Try a little heat and a rawhide mallet. George
