Question about Sig Sauer sp2022 .40cal

I know this is a dumb question but im gonna ask anyways. When i cleaned my sig today after firing at the range i went home and disassembled it and when i assembled it back together for some reason i was just putting on the slide without the barrel. I was getting ahead of myself and didn't put the barrel in or guidrod . I didn't assemble it all the way but i just put the slide on. I was just wonder if it affects anything if you put the slide on without the barrel or guiderod and recoil spring? Please post serious comments if you could...thanx!

I had to try it as its not something that I would normally do.

It does not hurt anything that I can see.

Did it jam or other issue you are concerned with?
