PA-TFL-Rally Point-Class III shoot
TheRallyPoint
TheRallyPoint will be on Sunday- December 3rd- 12pm-3pm at www.classicpistol.com in Pennyslvania. This is a Class III friendly shoot and for the more experienced shooters. You don't have to shoot full-auto to attend this shoot, but you have to be experienced before Classic Pistol or any Class III owner will allow you to shoot. Come out for the show. Classic Pistol has the following Class III firearms for rent: MP5 UMP45 Thompson 1928 M16 M16 in 40 cal Details will be added to this post as soon as I nail them down. Since many of us have family and holidays stuff in December, I figured I'd better get this on the calendar ASAP. This is also a rehearsal for an upcoming Maryland shoot in January which is also Class III friendly.

Interested, but what does "experienced" mean WRT renting a machine gun? I'd certainly like to give it a go.

We won't be training anyone on full auto weapons and we won't be putting Class III firearms in the hands of people that don't own them. You will be allowed to rent Class III firearms from Classic Pistol and they will have a firearm instructor teach you. I'm not making judgement calls on any of that. That is on the person renting the gun and on Classic Pistol.
Pistol caliber FA guns are nothing. The First time I shot an MP5 I just started out with semi-auto then 3rd burst, and then proceeded to dump a full mag. It's always best ease your way into it.

There is a chance we'll get a group rate if enough people show up.
Please let me know if you are coming even if it is 24hrs notice.

I'll be there along with an M16/M4, M11, and maybe my HK51. I've got a transfer in right now for a .45 Spitfire - if I'm really lucky maybe that will get approved in time to bring it along also.

I'm bringing a ton of 9mm and .223, but I'm not sure about all of the calibers on some of the FA guns people are bringing.
What is the 45Spitfire? What does the M11 shoot? I have the Sig 228-M11, but I know that's not what your M11 is.

Jamie,
The Spitfire is a .45 - hopefully I'l have it by the 3rd. They're crude, but they work. Try to think of what a Thompson would look like if made from a piece of muffler pipe by a chimpanzee on acid The M11 shoots 9mm. I just remembered I need a new buffer so I'll order a Mac-jack buffer tomorrow. With a standard buffer they run about 1100-1200rpm. With a Mac-Jack they run about 1800 rpm - by the time the first shell hits the ground, the gun is empty. Wheee!!!!! The HK51 is a 308. The best way to describe an HK51 is an MP5 on steroids with a bad attitude. Its about the same size as an MP5, but then you notice the mag well is much bigger. Its about as loud and obnoxious as an M2HB and throws a huge fireball along with that 308. |

I'll be there with Bren (.303) and some SMG - either MP40 or M3A1. If my buddy can make it, the MP40 - otherwise I'll bring the M3A1.

The funny thing about this shoot is the fact that their are a whole bunch of guns coming that I never heard of before.

Yeah! These guys with their new-fangled Spitfires, M11's and HK's. Whatever happened to good ol metal and wood?
Just kiding, especially as the M3A1 has got to be one of the homeliest guns out there (in a manly WW2 kind of way). I look forward to seeing what the other folks bring out - should be lots of fun. |

George I'm sorry, but the Spitfire is the ugliest gun out there. Its the hairy mole on the arse of the gun world. Ironically though, some greasegun parts can be modified and used for spares in a Spitfire - maybe they share some common lineage in ugly. FWIW, I just picked up a greasegun barrel, bolt, and recoil assembly for mine.

Do I have to wear any special clothing to shoot those guns? Suit and tie?

For the BREN, I recommend spats and a bowler. For the Grease Gun, overalls would be just fine.

How many times do I have to change clothing for this?
Let me guess....full SWAT Team apparel for the MP5? Do I have to hold a little Cuban boy when I shoot the MP5?

Anyone have a Sig 239 in .357 Sig they can bring out? I'll be shooting mostly FA guns, but I'm interested in another Sig 239 other than the 9mm I usually carry.
