I've read before that a nickel finished gun can be re-polished two or three times. The one I just bought has a couple of fine scratches, and the usual "needles" that are only visible under a harsh light. Is there any way of telling how much finish is left? And would I be asking for trouble in having a gunsmith re-polish it?

Thanks,
Dick

Dick, personally I try to stay away from polishing nickel. If there are any deep scratches it needs to be replated. Jewelers rouge on a felt wheel will polish it very slowly but it will work. George
