Wolf .223 Ammo

Just a question. Can you, or Should you, remove the lacquer finish on
Wolf steel case ammo. I don't really want to gum up the chamber on the AR
What will take it off? Any suggestions.

I've shot thousands of rounds of it in my Colt and Bushmaster ARs. No problems whatsoever. Of course, I clean my guns after shooting.

When I spoke to the tech. guy at Bushmaster, he recomended not to shoot this stuff. I do clean after each session. I,m sitting on this case, Trying to figure how much additional cleaning it's going to take to get the cooked varnish out of the chamber.

They're are many over on ar15.com that shoot gabiliions of rounds of Wolf .223, including myself, that have no problems whatsoever with the laquer finish on that ammo. The powder and primers are a bit dirtier...just clean more often. These are battle rifles people...meant to work with crappy ammo and in harsh conditions.

Many myths die hard.
