Thank You All, So Very Much - - -

As we wind down, in the waning hours of the year 2002, and the final day of The Firing Line, there are a lot of good-byes being said. It is only natural that a certain amount of sentiment be expressed. Well, this is mine - - -

It has been my very real pleasure to moderate the Handloading and Reloading Forum of TFL for the past three years. This is one of the more technically-oriented sections of TFL, so it is only natural that all here are soft spoken and of gentle demeanor. This is in no way anything against the avid participants in General discussion and in Legal & Political, nor the other areas where there is a lot of brand loyalty.

I like to think that H&R has been a place where serious questions are asked, and sincere efforts are made to share knowledge. I know that I have personally learned a vast amount by reading the writings of others. I won't risk insulting on-line friends and associates by trying to pick out whose who contributed most to my education. If I have been able to share any useful items from my own experience, I am most grateful for having had the chance.

I think it is a tribute to all participants in this forum to mention that, apart from a few spirited exchanges about the relative merits of certain powders and loading presses (all in good fun, certainly,) there has been about zero acrimony and aggravation in H&R. the vast majority of my "Moderating" has been in mildly admonishing members not to post super powerful load data without including proper cautions. The cooperative attitude of the members is reflected in the fact that I have never had occasion to ban anyone from TFL, nor to suspend posting privileges of any member. Only seldom have I needed to edit out over-the-top loads. Most of the members so edited have indicated, by e-mail or PMs, that they understood the safety concerns.

I am most proud that Richard Lucibella gave me the opportunity to participate as a TFL staffer. Any success I have had has been entirely due to the attitude and temperament of the board participants.
I hope that each of you finds fresh venues in which to participate, in H&R activities, and in preserving our rights to keep and bear arms. I am newly appointed as moderator of the H&R forum at thehighroad.org
and will look forward to seeing many of you there. If not, there are other fine RKBA and shooting sites, as detailed in Rich Lucibella's good-bye message.

Again - - -Thank you all. So Long. Hasta luego, amigos.

Can we have one last discussion about duplexing just for old time's sake?

A dab of Bullseye, a dash of Unique and a dollop of 2400 topped off by a big chunk of lead - sounds like quite a cake!

Thank you, Johnny for the good teaching and good sense you passed out on this forum.

I'm glad you made the move over to THR!

Happy New Year, all ... and goodbye TFL.
