I need a bullet bucket!
Would a 5 gallon bucket of sand with a cloth "splash" cover over top contain typical handgun rounds?
I need something like this for in my shed so I don't have to go to the range or out in the "back 40" to pop a round while I'm building reloads. Any other inexpensive ideas?

I've used buckets of water. Not so safe that way, catches most HP rounds, but .22's bounced right off the bottom and flew back out, even after 16" of water both ways. Sand would be enough to do it though.

A freind of mine uses a stack of old telphone books about 30 inches deep I think.

If you can find a 25/30 gallon grease drum, 1/2 full of water/or sand. You could cut a hole in the lid and shoot into it.

I've heard of using telephone books soaked in water.

You bet sand will work. I have a similar bucket I use to test the silencers. I use an old rug cut up to keep sand contained.

Thanks Legion! Great idea with the rug. That's what I'm looking for.
