Sig P232 disassembly problem

I've got a new P232 that won't come apart for cleaning with the takedown lever engaged. Any thoughts before it goes back to Sig Sauer?

Send back to Sig? Try learning from YouTube. This is what I found:

Yeah; the gun is empty and no mag. When you pull the slide back after rotating the takedown lever to the "remove" position you get absolutely no indication of a point where the slide will lift. I applied a considerable amount of pressure and even rotated the takedown lever back and forth while the slide was back; no go.

The first thing I did was look at the Youtube video.

Make sure it's empty and take it back to the seller. Ask the seller to demonstrate how to field strip it.

That was done. The disassembly procedure was followed precisely and it will not go. Right out of the instruction manual and the Youtube video. The takedown lever rotates and you can see it rotate on the off side so it's not sheared off.

It appears the gun will have to go back to Sig.

Was the seller able to field strip it in front of you?

The customer took it home when he picked it up. It has never been apart. Nobody, including the seller, can GET it apart.

Once again: as far as I know, THE GUN HAS NEVER COME APART SINCE IT SHIPPED FROM THE FACTORY.

So I repeat my question; any constructive advice for disassembly or is this going back to Sig?
