Well, I only use Win, Rem, Fed. and Norma. It's good stuff but I haven't bothered with anything else. You ain't gonna be driving tacks with a .300 RUM so why sweat trivia. ??

Just loaded 39 rounds of 300 rum 3 weeks ago , my rum shot it's first round ever with a reload shell. Never shot a factory shell yet. My rem 700 BDL loves 99 gr or returnbo with a 165 gr nosler ballistic splitzer in a nosler brass,

If you're serious about buying the best, then Lapua is the one I recommend.

The Ultra is only available in Hornady and Remington brass. 97.00 per 50 and 77.00($20 off right now) per 100, respectively from Midway.

After doing a cursory search, I think you're right. I thought by now most brass manufacturers have ramped up for RUM.

My mistake. If that's the case, then I would choose Hornady brass.

Typically when you load these larger Magnum cases the life of the brass is not good. You will have loose primer pockets before case cracks or damage.

You will not have the case life of say a 6BR lapua brass case.

I like Remington or Winchester brass also for the larger Mag's.

I like Winchester brass real well, but I use Remington brass in my 338/06 because I am necking down 35 Whelen brass to make the 338/06, and I have only found it in Remington. I did notice in the Natchez Shooter Supply catalog that came today that Hornady is offering a new 35 Whelen loading, so I would guess they will soon be offering brass for same.

The Remington brass in bulk needs more case prep than the Winchester does. New Winchester usually doesn't have to be sized, although I do, before it is loaded. Remington is often dinged up and has to be sized and trimmed. The neck mouth is especially bad on some of them.
