any experience with the savage arms rascal?

I've got a 16 year old stepdaughter who enjoys some shooting. Mostly airguns and small handguns, .22, .380. She is short and not very mechanical. I know, we operate complicated weapons systems and think nothing of it. But for her simple is better. I really like the idea of a single shot rifle. And small caliber. So any thoughts on the Rascals? Or should I look at something different? Thanks in advance.

update

Looked at the Rascal today. I believe its too small. Also looked at Rossi .22/.410. This may fit better. Any thoughts?

I recently came by a Henry .22 lever gun in the Youth Model.

I'm a grown-up human and I like it. Should do well for a long time and to grow into if necessary.

Psyfly,

Thanks for your post. I own a H101 Henry. Love it! Great action, shoots well. Many thousands of rounds through it with no problems. However, the little lady found it heavy. Looked at the Rossi guns with her, too short. We settled on a synthetic camo stocked 702 mossberg. She feels that it fits her and is lite enough that she will enjoy shooting it. Sure, it is cheap model, but most of what I have read is quite positive. I was pushing for a single shot gun. Guess I can put only 1 round in the mag at first. She can practice and learn with it. Later on we can always upgrade.
