Did Ruger fix the FP Problem on the mini 30?

I reading an article about the " breaking firing pins " on the mini 30.
this article is two years old. Would just like to know if ruger did fix the problem?
I'm still deciding between a mini .223 or mini 30.

Do you also know if they have this problem with the mini .223?

after going to this page, read down about the breaking firing pins.

I bought the mini 30 yesterday so I hope there is no problem. My understanding was that the firing pin issue was due to the ammo.

What kind of ammo recommended?

What kind of ammo recommended? I'm still deciding about the mini 30...that's why I want to know about the FP problem before I go out and buy one.

I think the problem was due to certain ammo, Wolf Steel-cased and the like I think, having harder primers which led to the problems.

I could be wrong though.

Search for my thread on the same subject.

Also includes some cheaper ammo that's supposed to work well.

Id go with the mini-14 or a different rifle chambered for 7.62x39.

This issue has been attributed to steel cased berdan primed ammo (wolf, tula, etc.). I do not know if the issue has been solved as Ruger says "RUGER® MINI THIRTY® rifles are chambered for the 7.62 x 39mm
cartridge, and can use either standard U.S. military or factory loaded sporting
7.62 x 39mm cartridges manufactured in accordance with U.S. industry practice."

I really have no idea how wide spread the issue is but I don't think I'd chance it, I'd shoot brass boxer primed ammo out of it. As far as I know the issue has only appeared in the Mini-30 and not in the Mini-14. There are several posts over at perfect union regarding this issue in the Mini-30
