.54 Sharps Christmas tree bullet molds
I followed a thread and came across the "Track of the Wolf" site. They offer the .54 Sharps bullet. It's perfect and just what I'm looking for. But...I cast my bullets. I can't see paying for things I can make myself. TOTW doesn't offer the mold for this round as far as I can tell.
I've seen diagrams of the Rapine bullet but the TOTW bullet is more like the originals. Where can I get a mold for a military .54 Sharps Christmas tree bullet? Harry |

I just got a Berdan Sharps and am also looking for info on loads etc.
The link below has molds. I have one but got it in an auction. I sent an email to this outfit but never got a reply so can't be sure he still exists. Have not shot the gun yet. Molds for these bullets are high. ($100-$150) I'm going to also try a LEE R.E.A.L bullet also. http://www.neihandtools.com/catalog/index.html PS are you like me and just got the rifle on GunBroker auction site? |

Forgot to mention.
On the above link, click on the various mold links as there are several versions of his Sharps molds. The question I was trying to get an answer from him for was "what are the differences?", "what are the dimensions or diameters of the rings?" The mold I have may be a little too small as it goes about a half inch too far into the breech. (if I fill in the breech with powder it takes 120 gr ! Bullet is 500 gr) Let me know if you find sources of info. |

I looked up that site. The .544 looks like the one. I'll try to contact them.
