Weapon mounted light advice needed.

So I got interested in turning my Ar into a home defense platform so I went out and picked up a streamlight polytac for around 60 bucks. Anyways I the guy behind the counter told me that it had a 1" diameter and that it would work in this Mako offset flashlight mount. Problem is that even when the mount is tightened all the way down (probably over tightened) the flashlight can still be slid back and forth when some force is applied. Also should mention the mount has a little bit of play being a quick detach and whatnot. Anyways is this completely undesirable in a HD gun or should it work?

dump it and get a surefire weapon light

If you just can't swing that get a surefire g-2 and forget about the streamlight
