38 special , bullseye, and 125 grain lead rnfp

got some of these but none of my books have them all in a recipe.

Can anyone tell me what book i might can get to find these three together?

Lee 2nd edition manual ... 125 jacketed ... I would use for rnfp

The only thing I can find is a Lyman mannuel using a lead roundnose from mold # 356242 that casts them at 121 grs. or so.Starting load 2.8 grs for 690 fps and 8,600 cup.A max load 4.6 grs. 1001 fps at 16,400 cup this from a 4" test barrel.I see two different listings for this mold,the one in question has two grease grooves.I think it would be a good start.Lyman lists this mould at 120rgs.but their data says 121 using linotype lead.

My Lyman 48th Edition gives this data for a 120 gr. Linotype w/Bullseye:

Starting load - 2.8 gr. @ 690 fps & 8600 CUP
Max Load - 4.6 gr. @ 1001 fps and 16,400 CUP
+P - 4.9 gr. @ 1045 fps and 18,400 CUP.

I just went online and bought 6 more books. I already had 4 or 5 but they always miss the rounds that I am trying to load.

THese were really cheap bullets as I bought a big number of them. THey have one red wax groove, and what I assume to be a crimping ring groove.

Please notice changes I started typing about the two bullets and their different grease grooves and put in info for smaller bullet .2.8 to start is right ,and max is 4.6 my bad.

458winshooter. Im not sure I follow you. It appears this is the same thing you typed above, even if you meant the double groove or single groove. I dont see what you are talking about clearly. Sorry.

I have been using 3.0 grains of Bullseye with the WSP primers under the 125 gr. LSWC. It is a very mild and pleasant load to shoot. I got those bullets at a very cheap price but I really prefer 158 Grain bullet in the LSWC, because they just seem more accurate to me.

I went back in after I posted the first entry and changed it to the right info.Lyman lists a mold #356242 for both a single grease grove and a two grease grooved bullet.The single is listed as 92grs,and the two grooved as 120grs.The load info is correct for the 121 gr like Mr.Smaug posted after me.

Okeedokee. I have the myman manual, I see the 120 grain, but I am new to loading and dont like to try new things, unless its in the book. I wasnt sure if it was okay to do or not. Theres still a lot about pressure and what not I dont know. I am not sure what pressure signs are in handguns, from my understanding they arent as noticeable as rifle rounds.

I have never loaded 38 Specials, I mostly load 9mm and 45 ACP on a Dillon XL650, I would like to start as I have about 800 rounds of brass and I shoot a small J frame revolver. I would need to purchase the proper dies and everything for the Dillon and would like to shoot a comfortable load for fun. I use this gun in the winter as on of my S.D. guns as it is easy to use a pocket holster. I was looking through the Lyman 49th edition reloading manual and see the bullets you are talking about. They have a large selection about the hard cast loads from 90 to 170 gains. I am looking for a comfortable load and will not be shooting any long distance (12 to 24 feet) because I only have the 2 inch J frame. Where is a good place to purchase the cast bullets.
I realize this is an old thread but I thought I could get some informatiion.

Since you are new, I presume that you didn't realize you are responding to a 3 year old thread. Many of the posters are probably not still active.
