Are you getting your data out of the new Hodgdon manual?
Because that's what it shows data for, the 130 & 150 bullets. You could probably start out using pretty much the same data as the 150gr. bullet with no problem. Or try & contact Hodgdon. CFE is to new of a powder to be in bullet manfactures manuals. Or you could just go buy a lb. of Varget, RL-15. |

I think the monoflex bullets were designed for the 30/30?

Not sure why you're using this combination but Hornady #8 does not list 140(not made when manual printed) and 160 not w/CFE223(powder newer issue than manual). This is in the .307 Win(rimmed version of .308 slightly lower pressure).
I won't make any recommendations not in a manual. Suggest you find more suitable bullet/powder combination. |

The Monoflex bullet is a flex tip and intended for a lever actions.
However it is a .308 and should shoot in a 7.62x51 .308. Go to the Hodgdon site and select reloading data center. The info for the 140 Monoflex is listed under the .30-30 caliber. The Monoflex bullet is not listed under the .308 caliber. That might tell you something. Under the .30-30 caliber, they list the 140 GFX Monoflex bullet with 9 powders but don't include the CFE 223 powder for the .30-30 caliber listing. CFE 223 is included in the .308 caliber listings but the 140 Monoflex isn't listed. |
