Shot PPC for the first time..
I shot PPC for the first time and didnt do too well. Score was 428 and 7 X's.
Things I had against me: 3 1/2'' barrel FMJ 115 grain production ammo First time shoooting with left hand Guys there said I didnt do too bad for what I had, but that is all I have for this competition. Things learned: I need smaller loads (where is the best place and what grain?) Longer barrel ( different gun ) More practice I need to learn more Anyway, I wanted to share just to maybe get a few tips on how to get better. any suggestions appreciated. |

Main thing
DID YOU HAVE FUN? PPC is rough, but fun, and you learn a lot if you keep at it. Try shooting it with a 642, I dont score well, but its a lot of fun. Also helps my close in shooting a lot. I did learn, thought I dont get many in the 10-X ring, I could discourage bad behavier at 50 yards if necessay.

Its been a while since I shot PPC. You are going about it right, shoot what you have, enjoy it, and you will decide along the way what you want to upgrade to. There is no hurry, all this stuff cost a lot, so take your time and get it right.

I think I am going to try light loads next time out. Is there anywhere I can buy these or do I have to get someone to make me a few?

www.mastercast.net offers a good variety of new and remanufactured ammo, with a variety of wadcutter types for 38spl. The WC's are popular for PPC.

I wanted to do IPSC, but I thought I would start out with PPC for the sake of drawing and shooting without running and swinging a firearm around as a newb
As long as I can throw some lead down range I am happy tho |
