Walmart vanguard for 350?

My local walmart has these guns on cleareance with a tan stock with splashes of black for $350.00 in 7mm, .300, .30-06, and .270. Is this really a good buy for these rifles?

That is an excellent buy on a quality rifle that will shoot well and give you years of quality performance !

That is a very good buy on the vanguard as they have a great reputation and the action is made by Howa.

Yes, get the 270, so we can get a thread how you wasted your money if you could have gotten a magnum for the same price, how the 7mm is the superior 270, and that the 30-06 has taken any animal on this and all neighboring planets.
BTW which Walmart is that, close enough for me to drive to?

No real world difference between the three cartridges (.270, 7mm RM, and .30-06) they will all take the same game very easily. Good rifle and I wouldn't hesitate to buy one even at Wal-Mart.

Hey, At that price, any one would do. If it were me, I would go ahead and get the big 300. Not much in NA you cant bring down with ease. Shoots as flat as any of them (apples to apples) and more energy downrange.

I hear a lot of people on here complain about the 300.........too much recoil.....too much meat loss etc. Just remember the the 300 in hunting configuration is not designed to be shot from the bench all day. Learn your proper techniques (pull tight to "pocket", press cheek firmly on stock) and you wont have a problem. If you forget, the rifle will remind you quickly.

As for meat loss, Put the bullet through the boiler room and not the sholders and you really dont loose much meat at all.

I reload to keep the price down, but the 300 isnt really that badly price. About $30 a box at walmart for coreloked. 7mm is about the same. 270 and 06 are $5 to $10 cheaper. Reloading price difference between 06 and 300 is about $1 a box.

old Sneaky Pete here: I got one in 30-06 and the included target 3 shot was SUB 1 MOA( 0.568" ctc). The '06 ammo is real easy to come by and as said will take anything short of a Kodiac(maybe if your a really good shot????) THANX--SNEAKY

As I get older I find hitting a mini ram at 200 yards with the 22 oddly more satisfying.
