Laser alignment
For home SD puposes, at what distance should the laser ideally line up with the sights?
I notice after calibration of my new laser using nothing more than visualization and Point of Aim, that at about 3-5 yards for example, the laser is about an inch or so above the POA. At 7 yards, its on the POA. And over 10 yards its much lower than the POA (perhaps as much as 4-5 inches). Is this correct ? Or am I going about this the wrong way? |

i was thinkin about setting the laser perfectly parallel to the barrel so the laser dot would always be low to the right by labout an inch. (mines a revolver so the laser is in the right side of the handle)
i forgot where its set right now, i think 15 yds. but theres about an inch or two difference between 7 yds and 30 yds. i don't use it for SD though.

I agree with NCHornet. The laser should be set at 7 yards. Most self defense attacks are at this approx distance. Anything farther out the laser will still give you center of mass hits.
