First handloads

Chunk--congratulations! There is nothing, NOTHING, like the feeling of shooting one's first I-did-it-all-by-myself rounds, and they all go bang and hit the target!!

Great! You have now started on a lifelong quest to build The Perfect Load. Enjoy. Good luck. It won't happen in your lifetime, but what a great ideal for which to strive!

And as always, the journey is part of the destination.

Hope you find the perfect load for that rifle. I have a H&R Ultra .243 that shoots great. Quite a gun for the money.

Congrats Chunk,
I just shot my first handloads Fri. (.44 mag, 9.5 gr Unique, 240gr JHP). The first one is a little nerve-wracking but man is it cool. Now I'm looking for another gun in a different caliber just to have something else to reload!

Congratulations Chunk. Now you are addicted for life like the rest of us. It is very satisfying to shoot your own hand loads. For me I was very nervous the first few of mine that I shot.

at first I started handloading to save $$.. now shooting seems even MORE therapeautic(spelling?) when testing my own loads. mostly now I shoot light loads when punching paper to not upset the neighbors.(even though their dogs bark all night long)
