First handloads
Chunk--congratulations! There is nothing, NOTHING, like the feeling of shooting one's first I-did-it-all-by-myself rounds, and they all go bang and hit the target!!
Great! You have now started on a lifelong quest to build The Perfect Load. Enjoy. Good luck. It won't happen in your lifetime, but what a great ideal for which to strive! And as always, the journey is part of the destination.

Hope you find the perfect load for that rifle. I have a H&R Ultra .243 that shoots great. Quite a gun for the money.

Congrats Chunk,
I just shot my first handloads Fri. (.44 mag, 9.5 gr Unique, 240gr JHP). The first one is a little nerve-wracking but man is it cool. Now I'm looking for another gun in a different caliber just to have something else to reload! |

Congratulations Chunk. Now you are addicted for life like the rest of us. It is very satisfying to shoot your own hand loads. For me I was very nervous the first few of mine that I shot.

at first I started handloading to save $$.. now shooting seems even MORE therapeautic(spelling?) when testing my own loads. mostly now I shoot light loads when punching paper to not upset the neighbors.(even though their dogs bark all night long)
