Serial Number lookup

I have had a S&W passed down to me from my wife's grandfather. The serial number from the best I can tell is 222992. Any help on age of this pistol? Thanks.

Need more information (caliber, finish, type[break top, hand eject, ect.] or some pictures. S&W can have the same number on several different models and different dates of manufacture.

Your 520 is one of the later mfg. with only 147 left on the run.
