I have purchased a used Remington 700 in .308 and it has a standard Leupold scope mount system already on the rifle. My question is if I buy leupold rings can I attach any standard scope to this mount ? Or am I limited by other factors.. Thanks for any help

Depending on objective diameter, you may need to get taller rings. If you currently have a 40mm objective and switch to a scope with a larger (say 50mm) objective, you will most likely need taller rings to prevent the objective bell from interfering with the barrel, thus preventing the scope from being mounted.
Leupold has a fit guide on their website. All you need to do is select a rifle model and Leupold scope model, and a list of compatible bases and rings will display. www.leupold.com |
