Lately, all I see in stores or catalogs is the 5-shot with pistol grip. Is the older style 8-shot still available? Can anyone point me to where I could order one?
(I am still undecided between the M1 and Saiga 12 but lean toward the Benelli)

They haven't made an 8 shot since the 94 ban. I see them from time to time on the auctions. If you want one of the most reliable shotguns made, buy a Benelli. The Siaga doesn't even run in the same pack as the Benelli. They do make 2 & 4 shot tube extensions, but then this gets into legal issues about preban/postban bull. I have read that you can put a 2 or 4 shot tube on a postban but only if you have a standard stock (no evil pistol grip stock). Hope this info helps.

Federal law limits all current production (post ban) Benellis with the Pistol Grip stock to the 5 round magazine.

If you were to change out the postban PG stock to a standard rifle stock (no PG) you could then attach the 4 round extension tube for a total of 7 rounds in the magazine + 1 in the chamber = 8 rds.

Hmm, I don't see the standard stock/7+1 listed in the 2000 catalog (1999 catalog too). It is legal in this configuration though. They do have the 4 round extension listed so buying a standard stocked M1 and buying/installing the 4 rounders is OK. They do sell the Practical which I got a few months ago (9+1) without any probs straight from Benelli (had to order).

Oddly enough, the 2000 catalog is giving the mag capacity of the Practical as 8+1 while the 1999 cat is 9(+1). I can fit 9 in the mag.

I have seen a few standard/7+1s occasionally but had not noted where I was at when I saw them as I already had my fill of Benelli shotguns and wasn't seriously looking for one. I did see a tactcial Nova that looks interesting (I think I will buy) with ghost ring.

Am I the only person who's waiting to buy the new Benelli M4?

GGGLOCK is right on the money.

Also, IMHO the pistol grip stocks are worthless.

Sorry to divert the thread, but, where can I find the Benelli catalog?

Is there an address to write to, a website...?

Thanks

Ben

Some gun shops will carry the catalogs free for the taking.

Icopy, I'm curious. What is it about the M1014 (M4) that makes you want to buy one over an M1 or M3?
