Hi,
I received my replacement Remington barrel in the mail. It looks good except for the POS sights. I noticed that the front sight looked funny, and when I touched it a big white flake of paint came flying off! So, the front sight is now black. I've heard that Remington sights were bad, but geez! Absolutely no pride in the wormanship...not to mention no QC. Any recommendations for a replacement set? Thanks! TCW |

Cheapest is to get some Rust-oleum Gloss white paint and re-do the sight. For new sights, nobody carries more then Brownell's. http://www.brownells.com
Other than the paint most Remington shotgun sights are pretty good. They'll stand up to police use, and that's a good recommendation. |

Gosh, I've been pleased with the rifle sights on the 2 870 barrels I've had. Didn't see any quality control problems. As to replacements, check Williams, Lyman, etc
Go to http://www.gunhoo.com and search for sights. Kilgor |

A $2 bottle of Testor's Enamel paint for models will fix you right up,TCW. Try White and Yellow.
Those rear sights are amde by either Williams or Lyman, IIRC. They'll work, tho I do prefer a peep, using the standard front and a Lyman or Williams receiver sight. |

I've never had a problem with Remington's rifle sights, either on 700 rifles or 870 shotguns. If you decide to replace yours, one option to consider is Meprolight's replacement sights with tritium inserts.
