Can ambi safety be switched to standard??

Hello all... I just bought a LW Commander XS. I love the gun but was thinking of installing a standard right side thumb safety. Can I take the ambi safety out and just put in a standard safety or what???

Well....yes, but it must be fitted, as all safeties must, by someone skilled with this process. No safeties are drop in on a 1911.
