is going to be the 92FS. i read that these new one's are made of plastic? is there a website that offer's the ability to upgrade those parts to metal?

Italian has a plastic glide rod

American has a steel glide rod

Might been a slight difference between what the trigger is made of.

Owned both , no difference in performance or reliability.

Magnificent firearm, well over 20k rds fired between the two without a single failure of any kind. They just got smoother & smoother.

the Guide Rod, Hammer Spring Cap (w or w/o lanyard), Trigger, Hammer (metal internals), Magazine Release, Take Down Lever, Mag Base, an from what i see these parts are available in steel from the beretta website, an you can get a skeletonized hammer.

Don't let the "plastic" get to you though. Sure, you can replace them if you want, but there's no reason other than if you just feel like it. The gun won't be any more reliable or accurate either way.
