Starting to Load 30-06 and 30-30

Hello Again Everyone,

I'm gonna start loading up some 30-06, I just wanted to get a quick concensus. Generally does the -06 like Boat Tails or a spitzer type bullet? My 700ADL will just about stack factory 150gr Rem. Core Lokts, but I'm not quite sure what kind of bullet the factory Remingtons are. For the dirty - dirty I'm just gonna stick with the leverevolution bullet.

Thanks in advance

Boattails have a better ballistic coefiency and hold up better over longer ranges. 300 yards and under, I have found no real difference between flat base and boattail bullet in the 30/06. I use a variety of bullets in my 06, and have found Sierras to be the more accurate than most. I load 150 BT, 165 BT, and 180 BT in the 06 and all give at least 3/4 MOA.

My son's Tikka T-3 always shoots 3/4 or better with Sierra 150 flat base sptizers.

Bill

Lever bullets are designed for under 2500fps. You can get 150 CoreLokts at Midway. My '06 rifles have always grouped Hornady and Sierra 150 Flat Base the best. My last group with Sierra's was 7/8".
