Southgate style ejectors help?
Hi everyone,
I recently inherited a 16 GA sxs made probably in 1965, with Southgate style ejectors. However my grandfather was loading his cartridges by hand and he didn’t want the empty cartridges thrown to the ground. So he had the ejector system removed and discarded. The shotgun is from a Spanish maker (ILJA), which I can’t find on the net and I guess spare parts cannot be found anywhere. The gun is a real beauty and although it has slight recoil, I enjoy hunting with it. Can anybody give me any information on Southgate ejectors, how they work including diagrams etc and about how much it will cost me to have a gunsmith make new ones and install them for me? Attached are some photos of the gun. Greetings from Sweden. |
