200 GR Rainier HP
ok I loaded up some of the above in 45 ACP using 4.7 gr of titegroup and a aol of 1.2550. I shot 7 rds into a 32 gal trash can full of water and 6 did not expand at all and 1 kinda did. The .380 .40 and the .45 of stock HP's I bought all expanded great. I will have pics up later. Any idea????

here are the pix.
from left to right. .380 80Gr Corbon DPX, .380 102Gr Rem Golden Saber, .40 135Gr Fed Hydrashock, .40 180Gr Winchester personal defense from Walmart, .45 200Gr Rainier I loaded and .45 185Gr Winchester Silver tip. Also the Rainier rds went straight though the water like a round nose would, and 4 of them went through the bottom of the 32 gal trash can 2 were stuck in the bottom and one was in the bottom with the .40 that I shot just before the .45. |

Rainier is plated lead bullet meant for practice rounds and will not expand, just deform. I would not use Rainier for SD/HD loads.
If you want your bullets to expand, I would recommend premium plated HP like Speer Gold Dot and jacketed HP Remington Golden Saber. |

I had no plan on using them for SD or HD just curious as to how they would expand compared to my other rds.
