pardon my ignorance. What does moa stand for? i've seen it used re shot groupings.

Technically it's Minute Of Arc but most shooters use it as CPTMurdoc does.

360 degrees in a circle
60 minutes in a degree 1/60th of a degree, run to 100 yards has 1.047" spread between legs of the angle. at 200 yards its 2.094", at 300 yards its 3.141"... rear sights on high power service/match rifles are built to adjust in 1/2 minute increments for both elevation and windage (many shooters use 1/4 1/4 rear sights) where your standard AR type rifle will have 1 minute or in the case of my Colt, 1-1/3 minute sights... i have 1/4 1/4 rears but i cant hold that hard so i still usually make double the correction (effectively making my sights 1/2s) |
