Reduced loads w/jacketed bullets
Can I use jacketed bullets in reduced loads?
I want to let the girl friend shoot a 270 off a bench using reduced loads. She is very new to shooting so I want her to shoot plenty with just slightly felt recoil. This is the rifle she plans on deer hunting with so it's what she should be familiar with. I only have jacketed bullets not lead like the Lyman manual shows. Shouldn't they work just fine using the same grain bullet with the same powder and amount as show in the manual for reduced loads? I was thinking Unique or IMR 4198 which is listed and I have on hand. Any reason not to use these powders/bullets? |
