The HK is as big as it gets for me. I'm too small to be walking around with a Desert Eagle or a Smith&Wesson 29. I would need a new hip after a few years of dragging a brick around.

I've seen guys who printed but I didn't say anything, so they think no one has ever noticed their concealed carry piece. Maybe I'm too thin, but a pistol on my side (4:00-5:00 position) looks like I have a tumor growing off my hip. Unless I'm wearing a tent of a shirt, it's real obvious that I'm carrying a pistol. |

I find that 4-5 isn't the best position for me to conceal

I've found that for ME, the bigger the gun the more often I walk out of the house unarmed. If you dress appropriately and are committed enough, you can do it. I'm lazy and walk around in gym shorts and t-shirts most of the time. If I want to be armed, I choose smaller weapons. YMMV.

I think most people assume a cell phone, leatherman, or other - if they notice at all.
IMO, the only ones likely to notice are LE, or other CCW types. LE types have never said a word to me, so if they did notice, they did not care. |

I carry either a 1911 or my XD45. I'm a rather large fella 6'1 and over 200 pounds. I should add I usually open carry. PA is an open carry state. I can conceal the 1911 a little better that the XD. My 1911 is a bit more accurate than my XD but not by much. ether will get it done at over 25 yards The XD weighs more that the 1911 when loaded with 230 gr. GDHPs but empty the 1911 weighs more. The XD fits my had better. Yes I have big hands I need an Extra large glove.

[I][/Actually, neither of you know if you have or have not been made while carrying.
I've seen guys who printed but I didn't say anything, so they think no one has ever noticed their concealed carry piece.] Actually yes I would. Because if you show in a casino you will be firmly asked to leave... and no they are not a state no go zone... they can post but can only ask you to leave. If you refuse to leave then they can trespass you. Thats all.

Everything in life is a compromise.
If not for the size and the weight I'd carry a full sized handgun every single day. More often than not I end carrying something the size of a G19 or smaller. Don't feel under-armored at all. A pocket pistol you actually carry around on a regular basis is many, many times more effective than the tricked-out M4 carbine in your safe back at the house. |

It does not mean that others playing in the casino didn't notice. Maybe they did and just thought you were undercover security? The thing is, unless they say something, you will never know if you were made or not. |

You have not been in a Vegas casino armed then sir. Casino security is no joke, well the ones you DONT SEE. The average uniform guard is probably 50/50 attentive. It the ones that are retired federal leo or PD that stroll around do pay attention (I've worked with them and trust me they will escort you out if they see it) politely of course... unless you have the badge to back it up)).

I CC'd my SR45 yesterday using a really loose T. While I don't see carrying a 40oz (loaded) gun for many hours on end, I didn't have a problem for the few hours we went out.
I only carry OWB no matter what I carry, I just try and make sure it's not super obvious because of printing. I'm thinking of giving compacts another try after 4 years of carrying an LCP 90% of the time.
