My area WMs all seem to have plenty of 20g. I haven't noticed the loadings........if it ain't 12g., I'm not interested.

If you want to complain about trying to find 20 gauge ammo, try 10 gauge. Before all of the shortages I couldn't find it. I asked at Gander Mountain and they told me that can't even order it. All of the local places don't have it, except one about 45 minutes away. I think it's around $25-$30 for 20 rounds. .410 is even hard to find anymore. 16 gauge can still be found somewhat easily.

20g isn't that hard to find here. Nowhere near as easy as 12 gauge but not too terrible. 22 is unheard of, though. I don't own a 22 and am thinking about buying one, but I may get a 9mm handgun instead simply because I can find ammo for it although 9 isn't particularly common either.

I see at least 35 buckshot entries on the 20G page of gunbot for any/all buckshot (which may or may not be the specific pellet size you're looking for)
I just found a 1000 round brick of 22LR at Cabelas. It was on their doorbuster flyer. $45 for 1000 rounds. The line weaved back and forth in front of the door for nearly 900 people. We waited in line (at about the halfway point) for 20 minutes before the store opened, then on the stairs leading upstairs to the ammo dispensing station, then for the stairs leading down, to the line for the registers, at which point we ended up in yet another Cabelas door buster line in the Burger King a few blocks away. The humor wasn't lost on me. |

Ammoseek.com is your friend.
I haven't been able to find percussion caps anywhere though, not even at Cabelas or Bass Pro here in Kansas, or at one Bucheits farm store in Southern Illinois. |

It seems to be one thing after another, hitting the most necessary component1 You know someone somewhere is an expert and just pulling the pin just when "we" let our guard down!
It's far more than a coincedence or just an oversight from the retailers ordering. There's no way it's just happening! Far toodisabling on each facet of shooting... Yea, I DO believe in conspiricys now! ZVP |

No problem Shortwave! The .22 shortage is just like all the other shortages.
Everyone is cashing-in, the manufacturers, the middleman (Retail stores) and the "gougers" at gun shows. Heck it makes sense to sell everything you have and not sit on inventory, I guess I can't blame them for using their heads before I used mine! It's just that right now I have at least a dozen .22 rf's and only about 500 rounds to my name. T Totally my fault, I didn't see it coming and got caught up short. Far as the 20 GA Buck goes, it was never as popular as 12ga and therefore supplies were lower. I bought a 20 ga on a whim, I saw the prettiest English Stocked SxS and bought it. Then, I went looking for ammo.... Since the shortage had already hit, I was hard pressed to find any 20 ga Buck! I did eventually find3 boxes on line and ordered it, at least I have 15 rounds and 5 Slugs for the shotgun! Little by little I will order more and maybe get a nice stash for the house? Same thing is happening right now with BP Percussion Caps believe it or not! You can buy everything except the most important part, ignition! Jeese the shooting sports are in a hell of a state and I really don't ever see a full recovery because "Easy Control " is happening! JMHO ZVP |

Local WMs have all the handgun and rifle ammo you could need. Except 22s of any kind. Shotgun ammo? Cases of 12s and 20s, all sizes n brands. Lots of 410, 2 1/2" and 3" both, 4s 5s 6s and oo buck for the Judges. But, No 22s or 22mags of any kind.

The "Where is everything?" thread -- guns, ammo, primers, powder, etc... is still the one, central thread where discussions of the price and availability of these things should now be taking place. Feel free to continue the conversation there.
