I'd like to try my hand at calling in some coyote and fox. Most of the info I've found online is for the Western United States. Any of you guys have some info on these critters in the Midwest? (Ohio to be exact) I'm not sure where to call. We have some woods, and a lot of farmland where I live.

Wander on over to http://www.varminter.com for some info. There are quite a few guys there who apparently don't do anything *except* call varmints.

Several guys from your general part of the country. Fair number of "what to do?" threads.

Good hunting!

Here in Illinois, we hunt the broken farmland and creek bottoms and set up for calling. If there is old strip-mine land or rough river bottoms these areas are favorite haunts for the critters. I like to hunt with a buddy so we can conceal and watch more than one direction without alot of head movement and also so one can concentrate on calling. I still use the old fashioned mouth calls. I haven't given in to the electronics yet. I like the old Olt bar-reed call cause you can use it hands-free to squeal or bite down on it for a squeeker like a mouse when the wary ones hang up at long range. Good luck!
