Help with 44 mag load

Looking for a 1150 - 1200 fps ish load for my SRH. I have Cast Perf. 255 gr. WFN PB. Powder I have is Longshot, Green Dot, Herco, and H-110. I have loaded quite a bit with H-110 and am just about done with the recoil. Want to try less velocity. That is partially why I switched to cast bullets. Less velocity, more penetration than using XTP's. This would be a deer load in Michigan. Also have 300 Gr WFN GC. Been looking ant getting some Unique, but if I can find a good load with what I have, I'll save $20. Thanks for your help.

Should be able to achieve that velocity with all of the powders except maybe the H-110 due to not being able to reduce the loads much. How long is your barrel? I too, am about sick of the recoil from hot H-110 loads. I just shot way too many shells sighting in my iron sights because I developed a bad flinch. Also my front sight wasn't tall enough to use 300 grainers loaded hot. The gun is a Ruger SBH Bisley 7.5".

SRH with 7.5 in bbl. I'm looking at getting a taller front sight from Midway in the near future. Any thoughs on the height? I know I can get the velocity from all but H-110, but looking for some starter loads with the others. Better yet, any pet loads???

Did you consider Trailboss powder? Probably end up at about 800 fps .....

You might consider a trade-in for a 41 mag or a 45 Colt too.

You could try 44 special cases with the H110. That should let you load them down a bit.
