What am I hunting this year? What am I not hunting this year would be a better question. In order of time spent in the woods:

1) Coon
2) Coyote/Fox
3) WT Deer
4) Small game

Long guns in no particular order:
10/22, 12ga #1, 12ga #2, .243 Savage.

For archery my Parker Buck Buster 175 and for the rifle season my Remington 700 ADL Varmint that has been cut back to 20" loaded with 165gr Game Kings over 44grs. of RL-15.

This year:

SKS paratrooper with peep sight and wilson firesight front blade and Ruger Super Blackhawk with ultra dot.

If I get a deer and if it is a buck here in Md., I will continue to hunt with (rotation) Marlin 336 in .35 Rem. with 4X scope and the SBH. Must take 2 doe before another buck can be taken.

We can kill many does in Md. gun season.

If good fortune visits me and I get a second deer (rotation) Winchester 94 30-30 with buck horn rear and wilson firesight up front and SBH.

Taken a doe so far, seems to work well enough

Pain in the rear as far as weight, having to lug around isnt fun, all the lbs add up!
Isnt as handy as my brother's 3lb 30-06 or my buddy's .270
but it doesnt recoil much and I dont care if it gets scuffed, etc

^^^Had to adjust the scope forward from this pic, so it sits further up some

should be able to see the "dilla in the scope, those rodents are everywhere on the property

T/C Encore 209x50 in PA's early antlerless muzzleloader season (success) and that part of NY where I can't use a centerfire rifle.
Remington Model 7 in .308 where I can use a rifle in NY, and in PA's regular season.
Lyman Trade Rifle .50 caliber flintlock in PA's late primitive muzzleloader season (if I still have a tag).

Small game:
Savage 24 .22WMR/20gauge combo; favorite squirrel getter.

Except for some hog killing, all my hunting will be done with a muzzleloader. The guns may be a .50 Encore, a .50 Black Diamond or a .50 CVA StagHorn. i've killed two does and one buck in OK muzzleloader season using the Encore.

Cool a Yugo & a K-31!!
I to left the "hunting" rifles home along with the 4X, the 6X & the 3X9 scopes. Took the $89 Moisen-Nagant with handloaded 7X54R ammo to an area where seniors could shoot does. For backup took my almost equally inexpensive Yugo 8mm. (The hunt was successful by the way).

Since I have made a concentrated effort to simplify my life I only have three rifles.
The one I use for almost all big game hunting is a 98 Mauser single-shot chambered for 31-40 Ackley Improved. Weird caliber I know. My late father had it built several years ago. The reason it's a 31-40 is because the bore diameter is .315. I don't know why. The barrel looks military with a step in it and the 98 action was originally for a rimmed cartridge of some sort. The old man had it rechambered for 30-40 Ackley Improved but had RCBS make the reloading dies with a .315 expander ball on the sizer.
I take .323 diam. bullets and swage them down to .315. I usually use 170 - 200gr bullets. With a 170 gr I load 50gr of H380. Ballistically it's pretty much a 30-06. Actually the thing shoots pretty darn good if I use .312 bullets for the .303 Enfield. I was surprised by the accuracy using the smaller diameter bullets - 1.5" at 100 yards from the bench.
It has a 22" barrel and a 4X Lyman Alaskan scope.

My other 'big game' rifle is a Richard Marhoff drilling the old man had built in Innsbruck right after WWII. It is 16gaX16ga over .22 Savage High Power Ackley Improved (the old man really liked the Ackley thing..) that shoots 70gr .228 diam bullets at about 3,200fps with 36 gr of H380. I use it for a turkey and whitetail gun. I realize that the use of .22 cal cartridges for deer is not too popular on this forum, so just let me say that of the dozen or so whitetails I have shot with the thing they have dropped like they were pole axed with a heart-lung shot.
I have two boxes of old Speer 70gr hollowpoints left and those should last me a life time.
For elk, moose(if I ever get drawn), bear and deer I use the Mauser. Our elk and deer seasons here in Idaho run concurrently for a few weeks. For the rest of the deer season (does are legal for all of Nov.) I carry the drilling.
I also have the same .22LR single shot Western Field that I've had since I was a kid. I shoot squirrels, bunnies and grouse with it.

Thats what I'm hunting with this year and, more than likely, all the years I have left.

All i have is a Marlin ss in 45/70 that i use for hogs and deer w leverevolution rounds or cast 340 fp w 40 of 3031

for turkey i've a nice lil marlin 983 22 mag ss also

I will be hunting deer with my .280 Remington Interarms. Boyd Stock, Mauser 98 action, and a 26 inch Douglas Barrel. I'll be feeding it 150 grain Sierra Game Kings over IMR 4350 powder. In the bush I will be hunting with my Russian Baikal 12 ga. with 2 3/4 in shells.

I shot a medium size 8 point so far with a CVA wolf .50 cal muzzleloader. Now I'm waiting for rifle to start so i can use my new TC icon in .243.

If you want to hunt with a Bow during Big Game, or Small Game Seasons you can.* You don't have to use a Gun if you don't want to, use your Bow.

M90/31 mosin 7.62-54R little more power then the 30.06 round although I don't believe it has more kinetic energy than the 06 but it makes for an intresting hunt. It packs one hell of a punch and will leave a nasty wound..

Well for me, there something beautiful about a Mosin Nagant (91/30), as cheap as they are

The 7.62x54r is accurate enough and is a fun round. It's cheap to practice with too. What more can one ask for?

All depends on the game and/or place I am hunting. Actually, I just dropped my first buck this past Friday with the restored 336A at the top of the pic, so it is in the lead.
