I was at the range sat. and was talkeing with the GunSmith, he showed me a new rifle that he liked from sig. It seems to be a basic 5 shot bolt gun but it has a really neat trick. The barrel can be removed but the usere and changed out for another cartridge and if the bolt closed (and it will) it is ready to go.
the gun cost $500 and barrels were in the 200 range, the bolt itself has 3 lugs the lock into the barrel thus the headspace problem is solved. The bold face will handle a numbe rof non-magnum rounds
.308,.270,6.5sweed,30-06,8mauser etc..) I don't know if I will ever get one but it does seem like a good idea.
