Blackie Collins Letter Openers Arrived
Okay. These are basically a pair of 3-3.5" folders, and operate similar to my little Ken Onion Scallion. Yup. Get 'em past the point, and they open themselves. There's a button on the side for the lock, instead of a liner lock.
Except they're made of plastic. I'm sure it's some sorta high-tech co-polymerized substance, but it sure looks like plastic to me. The little spring in 'em is supposed to be non-magnetic. Dunno if I'd try doing any serious cutting with 'em, but they're nifty little dealies anyway, at 2 for $20... Have one serrated and one not. Not sure how strong the blades are (they seem sorta flexible, and as I'm not inclined to test them to destruction, I doubt if I'll find out. I probably won't carry one unless I know I'll be going past a non-governmental metal detector...
