Mini SA58 FAL OSW Rifle, Cal. - SA58OSW

I'm really interested on getting this rifle, but here in WA where I'm currently located attending grad school they don't allow SBR rifles. So would it be possible to to order the 13 inch mini SA58 and ask them to add a flash hider that would add 3 inches?

I don't even know if there is a flash hider/muzzle brake that is 3 inches long for the FAL, but that is why I'm here to ask the experts. Once I move back to Texas I plan to register it and convert it back to an SBR.

Would this be possible?

Sure it's possible.

Some of the factory FAL flash hiders are pretty long, if they won't work something could be made pretty easily. You could get a 3" hider and have it pinned onto the barrel bringing it to 16 inches.

Pinning won't work. The extension has to be permanently attached.

"Pinning" is short for "Blind Pinning" which is an acceptable way to "permanently attach" a muzzle device.

See ATF 5320.8 Chapter 2.

I was actually going to order the 11" barrel version of this gun until I decided to get a 5.56mm Colt instead.. My advice would be to wait until you get to Texas and get the real thing..

I've tried calling DSA, but they never seem to answer. I'm going to send them an email and update you guys.

However, did find this choice:

SA58 FAL PARA Elite Compact Rifle

How hard would it be to remove that flash hider once I move back to TX?

It'll depend on how they perm attach it. Most of them are pinned, so you just mill off the flash hider far enough to mill off the weld, and then you can pull the pin and unscrew the flash hider.
