I bought the Choate replacement front sight for my Mini 14, got the original sights off, and got the new one on. How do you get the front blade "aligned" (that is, perfectly aligned with the rear sights)? Is there a "quick and dirty" way of going about it, as I don't have a bore sighting kit. All the gunsmiths in my area (Boston) are booked solid until Feb., which is too late (for obvious reasons).

Also, I noticed that the original front sight was very slightly off to the left, is that normal?

JimC, sometimes factory sights are off a little. There is no quick and dirty way I know of to get the sight aligned. Get the action level both ways then use a machinists square with a level bubble or any kind of small level that will allow you to level perpindicular from the horizontal. Sometimes it takes a few minutes but just be patient. You'll get it. George
