Rem 1100 FTF on last shot of mag.

With no plug in I can reliably cycle 3 shots out of the mag, but not the last. The round gets stuck about an inch short of making it completely on to the carrier. Spring weak? Magazine need cleaning maybe? I am getting ready to plug it and wonder if I should get a new magazine spring? It is a 79 model that is quite clean, but I have no idea how many rounds it has shot. Thanks.

You might try putting an empty hull, as a spacer, in front of the mag spring.

If it is from 1979, I doubt the springs have been changed out. Wolff has what you need - remember to replace the the main action spring as well. My 1100 was bad about breaking the firing pin recoil spring also

Sounds like a weak mag spring to me

May want to polish/clean the inside of the magizine tube while you are at it because it will effect feeding.
