My FIrst Ultimate 10/22 Build--What ammo to use?

Have a couple of different versions of ammo to test which do you think will work the best?

Do you guys think I should try some other sort of ammo if so what?

Hopefully I will be able to get out this weekend and see which ammo it likes. I will be posting a review at http://www.dayattherange.com

Wolf MT and the Eley stuff is very good. The only problem I have run into is the wax coating on the bullets gumming up the semi auto chamber now and then.

If you want a cheap/bulk alternative that is actually pretty accurate in my 10/22 builds try Winchester Dynapoints.

That being said my build do pretty well with pretty much anything I feed them with the edge going to the Wolf MT. They however usually get fed Federal Bulk 550 fodder.

Judging from the photo, you already have an excellent selection. I'll lay odds that the Eley Tenex Ultimate EPS will do very well.

These are a few more I can think of that aren't in your photo... if you can find them, give 'em a try. All of these have produced excellent results at 25, 50 and 100 yds in various rifles.

Eley Match EPS
Eley Match
Lapua Midas Plus
Lapua Standard Plus
Lapua Polar Biathlon
Lapua Midas M
Lapua Master M

Hope you have good rests... consistency there will make a big difference.

You're going to have to experiment... Be methodical and keep good notes and the targets!! Here's my build and the resulting targets:

25 yard sight-in target shooting CCI SV:

50 yard target shooting CCI SV:

And if you have the money... Lapua Midas Plus:

Every gun is different. What works in someone else's may or may not work in your gun. The only way to know is to try them. However, it may take a couple boxes of each to find out, as foulinig from previous ammo may affect groups when you change ammo.

The barrel is a KIDD 18" SS Match topped with a Bushnell Elite 6X24X40. Also added KIDD single stage trigger and Match Bolt! I can't say enough about KIDD components...
