Grizzly Hunt anyone?
That's right folks, the Grizzly bear has been taken off the endangered species list....(Pause for cheers). While it is unlikely to be able to hunt them any time in the near future, it is a strong possibility that within 10 years, we may be able to enjoy the hunt of a lifetime.
http://www.billingsgazette.net/artic.../25-griz_x.txt This has been a long time coming, and is truly a victory for big game hunters here in the northwest who have had to put up with these big bears for a long time. Now, if a bear is killed in self defense, the repercussions shouldn't be anywhere near what they have been in the past. Outdoorsmen and hunters have achieved a true victory here in such liberal times. I am truly shocked.

Maybe the wolf? I was under the impression that you can hunt wolf in alaska. In fact I was told by hunters when I was there that they do hunt wolf. I am still waiting for the day that I can hunt Brown bear in Alaska. Have to get the finances together though. Grizz would be awsome though.

Yes we can and do hunt wolves up here. As a matter of fact we have too many.
You can take two on your hunting license without any tag requirements. However you can take ten in most GMUs with a trapping license. Get both and smoke a dozen ....................if you can find them.

This is good news. The wildlife people in Montana will tell you off the record that the Grizzly never was endangered anyway.I don't care anything about killing a bear, but I love to bow hunt for Elk and have had some too close encounters with Grizzlys. These animals are smart enough to change there habits when not being hunted.A healthy fear of man may save livestock, people, and perhaps even the bear from a bad ending.
