If you're going to shoot the Big 7 you'll need a bullet that will hold together on close shots and still expand well at 200+. I'd choose the Hornady traditional Interlock flatbase or the Remington Core Lokt myself. 139-140 grain for deer and 150-154 grain for bigger game unless you're hunting elk or moose, and then I'd go to the 175. IMR or H 4831 for powder, but don't count out IMR 7828 and H1000.

I run hornady 162gr sp boat tail interlocks in front of imr 4831 and cci magnum primers with good results. The hornadys have always done a good job. Plenty for deer, shoots well for me.

Spend the money for the premium bullets if you want.....I used 140gr Sierra Pro Hunter on top of a case full of H4831 and that has accounted for about 50+ whitetails over the years. Penetration was completely through and I never lost one of them. Accuracy is as good as any other I have tried...this particular load was about 3/4" consistently. Longest kill about 325 yds.

Nosler Partitions. One of the best bullets ever made. Another good one for deer sized game is the Swift Scirocco's. They have great expansion with good weight retention.

Nosler Partitions or Nosler Accubonds. Hornadys work well for a standard bullet, but make sure you get ones with the Interlock ring. Sierra and Speer are good bullets, but you will get jacket/core separations with them occasionally.
