I don't own a CZ 83

... therefore I need one. I'd prefer buying new outright rather than from auction. None of my LGSs have any stainless .380 12+1 in stock or on order, and I live in a major metro. Bud's is out, CTD is out.

I've heard CZ is simply swamped and behind in manufacturing. Is this true? I could wait a few months or try gun expos. Unless my friends here at TFL have some insight

There's a reason for that. The CZ83 is not made in stainless form. Blued or nickle. Yes they are not stocked well usually. Try the gun genie.

Thanks for the links PSP. My mistake on the finish, I think I'll go ahead on the blue.

Yes- get yourself one, and blued. Awesome guns. Can't go wrong with a CZ!

You can go "a little wrong:" by buying an 83 as opposed to an 82.

Double the price, less powerful cartridge, and a wait to get one.

The 82 is the "original", run $220 any day of the week, available by the dozen (now), and in a better cartridge.

Either are great pistols, but the 82 gets vote as "best buy". I own three and leave one "everywhere I might need a pistol".

It's nickle plated, not stainless.

The ad is incorrect. A nickel CZ 83 is my most recent purchase and I did quite a bit of research on them. They are only offered in Nickel and Stainless.

I double checked and the OP is right, Bud's is out of the nickel ones. I got mine from them last month $442. guess I had good timing.

Honestly now that I have it in, if I were to do it over I would get the blued. I had seen new blued ones locally before and the bluing is really nice. I ordered the nickel because I am a stainless fan, and to tell the truth I am a little disappointed in the overall looks. The quality is top notch, but the black trigger guard and controls with the matte nickel is not as attractive as the Blued ones I have seen.

Great gun either way though
