found 7mmremag 100 gr fmj, but will need more..

well, i did find the 100 gr fmj made by barnes, but, has been discontinued...but a man had several boxes, but, i will be out soon...

so, still looking for more....this ammo did great with fox, lynx and beave...small holes, accurate, etc...and still big enough to take down the caribou or moose...hope i don't run into a bear though here in Ak!....

but to answer someones question in the prior post, yes, the gun is sentimental...it was my hunting buddies who passed away....so, with the 100 grain fmj and the 175 grain loads for bear, it's a good gun...or at least it works!...

so, thanks for the prior info and help...

my main question is...can i make this bullet with a die?...is it customizable?....or is it limited to only what the dealers have as far as dies?..

second, who makes the 139 fmj?...i have not seen it yet?

"...to take down the caribou or moose..." They let you hunt caribou and moose with fmj's? FMJ's of any calibre or weight are NOT suitable for caribou or moose. They don't expand and will only cause a slow death. They are just dandy for hide hunting though.
Barnes makes a 140 grain solid. I'd hate to think what they're worth though.

honestly, at least for caribou, a 175 grain bullet is way to big unless y ou've got mr. monster horns at 500lbs, which are really few and far between when it comes to the avg caribou in ak...some herds are big, some are small...but, mr. monster horns has THIN skin, thin ribs, so, you don't need much for him any way unless your going throughh a leg bone....and at 3600 fps, a 100 gr fmj will shatter a leg bone into gernade shrapnel....

i shot a caribou with a 175 grain this past winter and crap, ruined the hide...blew a big chuck out of it.l...

the 100 grain is moving so fast, over like 3600 ft per sec, and at 100 grains, it still a substantial weight, that when it hits a moose in the neck, it's going down....or if hit in the rib bones, the bone does the damage to the heart, lungs, etc.....

the natives here hunt with alot smaller...they knock moose down with A.K. shots to the neck all the time....and hunt the caribou with, at most, 223....lots of times .17's since they can use them on ptarmagin birds....yes, i know....sounds crazy, but true......i'm here and see it....I would not do it...
