ZERO brand bullets...

Anybody ran across Zero brand bullets lately? I was snooping around Powder Valley's site tonight and came across some for sale. Anybody have opinions on them? I think I'm going to try Berry's, but still want to keep my feelers out for value...

I had some bad luck with a batch of 165gr 10mm/ .40's a while back. Very inconsistent sizing. Ended up trashing most of them. Most other people however have good things to say about them. Maybe I just had a bad box...

I have seen lots of good feedback on glocktalk and thehighroad. I have every intention if trying some out myself as soon as I have a few free $$$.

I've got 12,000 fmjs from Zero waiting to be loaded (6k for 9mm and 6k for .45 ACP).

Those were some HEAVY boxes.

Zero are consistent quality bullets. They are leaps and bounds and WORLDS better bullets than Berry or Ranier.

I have shot about 15K of them in 9 and 40 over the last year and have nothing but good things to say about them. The only bullet I think really is better from an accuracy standpoint is the Hornady XTP, but they cost a lot more.

I have used their jacketed and swaged bullets for several years and find the quality very consistent. Their .38 148gr WC is well liked among bullseye shooters.
Their service is great and extremely fast, usually around two to three days and the bullets are at my door.

Great price on Remington 240gr SJHP, too, $109 delivered for 1,000 is the best I found a couple of weeks ago.

I have shot a lot of Zero bullets, they work well for FMJ. If you are thinking of getting some, I would go with http://www.ghostholster.com Angus' delivered price is about $20 cheaper per k delivered! (You have to buy 2k though).

Powder Valley is also a good source for Zero bullets, and their delivered price is also lower then Roze.

I purchased a bunch of Zero brand swaged 38 caliber bullets. Leaded something awful.

Local gunshop stopped carrying Zero brand reloads. Claimed too many returns by customers who used that ammunition and then had blown up revolvers!.

It was a long time ago. But it was the 148 LSWC's and probably 2.7 to 3.0 grains bullseye. Maybe more. You could not push the bullets.

Roze does not offer a 148gr LSWC, only 158 LSWC. The 148 is a WC. This is a swaged bullet and is used by scores of bullseye shooters. If it leads excessively at slow velocities, the problem might rather be the chamber throats or the forcing cone.

I have used Roze WC and SWC and at moderate velocities they are fine. If you want to push your bullets fast, you have to go with hard cast with higher alloy contents.
