Howa 1500 or the Remington 700 for accuracy?
Looking for a rifle that I can shoot deer out at 300 yards if need be. I am looking at the .243, hoping that some one has had both of these rifles. Not looking to modify, except maybe the trigger?

I would think the 700 would have a very slight edge in accuracy. But then again maybe not. Either one will make 300 yard shots. You might be more of the limiting factor on that. But if you can do your part they certainly will.
I would prefer a bigger round myself. If you want to stay short action the 260, 7-08 or 308 would be a better choice. But thats only an opinion. |

Both should be acceptable 300 yard deer guns right outta the box.
