What firearms have I just acquired?

All,

Just signed up and this is my first post. I have questions regarding a rifle that I just acquired. I have 7 or 8 Mosins that I have picked up here and there and recently came across an old man who had possibly hundreds of guns in his basement/house. He's getting old and can no longer shoot much so hes selling them here and there.

Anyways, my brother swung by and picked this rife up from him for 100 bucks, and sent me this pic. It should be coming in the mail but until then, I only have this pic to go off. It seems to be a Finish M28. I have no info the markings or manufacturer. So anyone know any specifics based on the profile? Rarity? Value?

Thanks a ton,

Badmitten

It seems to me it’s a M27 (old style rear sight) rather than a M28.

I don’t know the prices in the US, but I’m pretty sure that a 100 $ is only a fraction of its real value.

Depending on its condition, it's worth $250-$350, possibly more if it's a rare variant.
